Do One Thing
For Oakland Tech
Want to make the most out of your student’s (or your own) time at Oakland Tech? Want to make Tech a better place? Then do One Thing for Oakland Tech.
What is that One Thing? Whatever you want it to be! Here are just a few ideas:
- Come to a PTSA (Parent, Teacher, Student Association) meeting. PTSA meetings are the fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Library, and everyone is welcome. They’re a great way to find out what’s going on and how you can get involved. The PTSA meets on the 4th Monday of every month, from 7-9 p.m. in the Oakland Tech Library.
- Sign up for a committee. From performing arts to our terrific silent auction, there’s something for everyone. If you come to the first PTSA meeting you can find out more.
- Join the Parent Patrol. Get to know the school!
- Join the Oakland Tech Sports Booster Club. The Booster Club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, at 6pm at Oakland Tech, Room 132.
Students, we need you too: we count on you to take eighth grade students around on Shadow Days when they start looking at Tech in late fall and early winter. Tenth and ninth grade students especially wanted! Email oaklandtechinfo@yahoo.com with your name and email address if you're interested.
And the list goes on, limited only by the imagination. So find One Thing you can do – and join those parents who have found Oakland Tech to be a great community in which to learn, achieve and accomplish great things! To volunteer or for more information, email oaklandtechinfo@yahoo.com.
