Jazz Band

UC, CSU
This course is open to students that are
interested in not only learning how to play jazz, but
also in learning the history and theory of jazz music.
Ensemble members must play one of the following
instruments: clarinet, saxophone(s), trumpet,
trombone, piano, guitar, drum set, or bass. Jazz Band performs at two evening concerts a school year. Remaining performance schedule TBA.

Orchestra

UC, CSU
Open to all students who play standard
orchestral instruments (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass,
Flute, Clarinet and Percussion). Orchestra rehearses
five days per week. The group performs two evening
concerts each school year. The Orchestra also performs at various school functions and community events. Music history and theory will be studied as well.

Digital Recording

Introduction to basic techniques of multi-track recording. Session operating procedures, multiple microphone placement, track assignment, overdubbing, mixdown, and console and recorder operation included. Basic Keyboarding techniques are studied also.

Programs: Reason, Pro Tools, Nuevo and Garage Band.

Piano (Beginning/Advanced)

UC, CSU
Prerequisites: No prerequisite necessary for
beginning piano, however, advanced piano student must have had beginning piano.

Description: This course is designed to meet the needs of students with a special interest in piano
performance. Musicianship/theory, correct hand
positions, fingering, and other technical skills that
are essential for piano performance are stressed.
Recital performance is also an integral part of this
course.
