To Incoming Freshmen, Oakland Tech Class of 2011
Greetings,
Welcome to Oakland Technical High School! In order to facilitate your transition into the Oakland Technical High School Community, we have organized a series of activities for you. Freshman Orientation will consist of:
- Community building activities
- Information sessions for parents
- Inspirational speech by Mr. Darick Smtih, Oakland Technical High School Alumnus and founder of the TryUMF program
- A tour of the campus
- An opportunity to take ID pictures and purchase gym clothes ($20-$25, cash only)
- Community gathering and lunch
All incoming 9th grade students are encouraged to attend this orientation so that they may learn about the many facets of the academic, athletic, and social life at Oakland Tech and to capture the “spirit and soul of our high school.” We at Oakland Technical High School are proud of the rich tradition that makes our school such a special place.
This exciting event and other key events will take place on the following dates:
